Alma was raised in the Corvallis area and taught school in Corbett, Oregon before her marriage to Ray Garrison in 1935. They had three children.   Ray and Alma moved to eastern Oregon and then settled in Klamath Falls in 1940.  Ray was an agricultural engineer, farmer, implement dealer, and instructor at the Oregon Institute of technology. Alma taught elementary school from 1954 - 1964. She retired when Ray accepted a professorship in Peru for Columbia University.   Ray died in 1979.  At the time of her death in 1982, Alma was 75 years old.  They are buried in Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens in Klamath Falls OR.
