Death Takes Mrs. Paulsrud The community was saddened by the death of a beloved mother and friend, Mrs. Hannah Paulsrud on Monday, April 24. Mrs. Paulsrud's health had been failing for some time. She was confined in the hospital in Bismarck since March 31, a cheerful patient sufferer till the last. At her bedside when she passed away at 6:10 on Monday evening were her four children. Mrs. Henry Otterson of Billings, Montana. Mrs. C. E. Greer of Bismarck, Clarence Paulsrud of Lemmon SD. and Ralph Paulsrud of this city. Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock from Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church with Rev. C F Turmo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery beside her husband Henry Paulsrud, who passed away on February 28. 1938. Pallbearers are Joe Hanstad, Ivar Otterson, Tom Sather, Mons Hjemvik, James Elliot and Paul Fancher. The deceased was born in Norway on May 11, 1879. She came to United States with her parents at only nine years of age. On May 9, 1906 she married Henry Paulsrud at Dickinson. To this union five children were born: a daughter Helen died at eighteen months. She has been a resident of this state for thirty-three years, and had made her home in New England for the past twenty years. Mrs. Paulsrud was a faithful worker in the Lutheran church with which she was affiliated, and in the White Rose Royal Neighbor Camp 5928, of which she was a charter member. At the time of her death she held the office of Flag Bearer in the organization. Mrs. Paulsrud radiated happiness, seeing only the brighter side of life. She was a joy and comfort to her family and many friends who found her ever ready to help when needed; friends numbered among the younger generation, as well as ladies and men with whom she was associated in her church and lodge work. Left to mourn her passing are her two daughters and two sons, three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. John Olson and Mrs. Ragne Svenrud, of Randall Minn, Mrs. John Moe and Mrs. Eric Rekstad, Montevideo Minn. A mother passing is keenly and distinctly felt by the children. Her absence will leave a vacancy in the hearts of many. To these bereaved relatives the community extends its condolance.
Hank and Johanna are buried in New England Cemetery.
