Wilfred was born and grew to manhood on the Grover homeplace.    His marriage took place there on July 12, 1940.   Willy was the only one of Otto's children to spend his life in Minnesota. He and Luella (Stensrud) had four children.   Willy loved farming and was very successful, developing one of the largest operations in the area over the course of his lifetime.   He was one of the first to have a lake cottage, and the home on Big Cormorant Lake was the site of many happy summer times. W. V. served on the Averill School Board, Glyndon Elevator Board, and was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church.    Willy's wry wit was unaffected by the complications of diabetes that cramped his style at the end of his life. His last years were spent under the watchful eye and dedicated care of his wife and younger daughter.   Wilfred died at age 83 on August 23, 1995 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery,  Moorhead.     Minnesota Birth Records   1940 Census
