Clay County, Minnesota
Clay County lies directly south of Norman County in Minnesota.
Pauline taught, was married and lived in Moland Township with her husband Alex and their children.
For about 5 years in the late 1890's and early 1900's, Alex was employed year-round by the Crookston Lumber Company marking and managing logging in northern Minnesota. Pauline lived during that time with her brother-in-law Edward Grover, on the original Grover homeplace.
The plat map below also shows the school where Pauline taught and Concordia Church and cemetery. Alex and Pauline were the first couple married in the church building, and they rest in its cemetery.
