Resolution of A Special Session of the
Clay County Commission
October 20-21, 1903
The following resolution of sympathy was adopted concerning the death of Edward G. Grover, the respected Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Clay County, who died October 11, 1903.
Whereas, In the providence of the Almighty God, in His infinite love and wisdom it hath pleased Him to take from our midst our friend and respected Chairman, the Honorable Edward G. Grover. Therefore Be It Resolved, by the Board of County Commissioners of Clay County, Minnesota, in session duly convened, that we express on behalf of the people of Clay County our sincere and heartfelt sympathy for the family of the deceased. In his death the County has lost a capable, efficient, and honorable officer; this Board, a member who had our full confidence and respect; the people, a man who by his generosity and benevolence held an endearing place in their affections; his family, a son and brother who devoted his life to their welfare and protection. And Be It Further Resolved, That these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this Board, that a copy thereof be sent to the family of the deceased and that the same be published in the official paper of the County.
