Raymond Hegland Grover was born in Clay County MN on December 23, 1915. In his later years, he would muse that having a birthday so close to Christmas wasn't much fun and parents should try to avoid it if at all possible.
Ray married Pearl Bolton on November 30, 1948. He purchased a farm from his cousin in 1950. Over the years, he expanded his farming operation, incorporating in the 1970's.
Ray was active in the church and community throughout his life, holding positions on a number of agri-business and other business boards of directors. He and Pearl wintered in Hawaii for 20 years. He never really retired; farming and machinery were his great love.
Ray came in for supper and stretched out on the sofa to watch the nightly news on April 7, 1993. He passed away peacefully from congestive heart failure. Pearl died November 14, 2013 in Moorhead from Alzheimer's.
Ray and Pearl are buried at Concordia Church cemetery, rural Glyndon MN.
