Torgeir and Rannei lived in Skafsa. In 1791, he took over holdings in Foldsae from Gunnar T. Veum for 1000 rd. He then leased it to Torgeir Gunnarson Laurvik of Skafsa. In 1792 after careful consideration he moved to northern Skrei taking over Anders Jonson's holdings for 1370 rd. In 1793 he was known as Torgeir Anundson of Skrei.

Aslak moved to and from many farms. In 1821 he was on Skrei, 1822 on both Morkji and Kleivgrenn. In 1831 he was on Kosi, 1833 on Nusvik and finally he settled on Graver.*

The widow Kristi Graver with Olav, Tone, Torgeir, and Ase came to America in 1846.  They settled and were upstanding citizens at or near "Lake Roos" (LaCrosse) in 1857.

* Aslak and Kristi are identified as 'leiglending.'  Leiglending  is usually translated as 'tenant farmer'.  It is in no way the equivalent of a husmann, however.  The right to use the land was granted through a legally registered lease that was usually valid for a lifetime and most commonly issued to a married couple.  A selvier could be either married or single and had a registered deed for property. A selvier and a leiglending were considered to be social equals. Both had
registered farm units  under their control.  A husmann might rent his 'husmannsplass' from either a selvier or a leiglending.
In most cases the married offspring of a leiglending couple could inherit the lease, but then a new lease contract had to be registered.  The biggest threat to the stability of  leiglendinger was the death of a spouse. Since the lease usually specified that a married couple manage the farm, failure to remarry quickly could result in its loss.  As a result, speedy remarriages were very common in the leiglending system.

These circumstances may well have figured prominently in Kristi's decision to join her brother Aslach in Wisconsin after her husband Aslak's death.

Differences between Veum and Marvik's genealogy

The most notable difference between the two genealogies is Marvik's exclusion of  Aslak's first marriage and daughter, Rannei.  Veum provides specific dates of residence for the family on various farms; Marvik's list is slightly different.  Marvik reports the spouses of Rannei and Åse, and two additional children who died as infants after Åse's birth.
